An independent panel of judges selected Rodrigo Vieira, a senior associate at Pinheiro Neto Advogados to win the Rising Star award.

Vieira has over 10 years of experience advising clients on project finance, structured/corporate finance, PPPs, privatisations, investment funds, capital markets, international investments and M&A.

In 2018, he worked for IFC in the financing of Phoenix Tower’s transactions. Vieira also worked extensively for Mubadala in its acquisition of the first refinery sale for Petrobras (2021). He not only worked on the negotiation of the financing for the largest Brazilian project bond at the time, but also on the structuring of the acquisition and borrower vehicles and the collateral package for the financing transaction.

Vieira has also been handling virtually all project finance transactions in connection with Citibank and has been part of the most prominent recent deals in the energy renewable sector (Projects Boa Sorte, Mendubim and Feijão).

Currently, Vieira is working on one of the most relevant green hydrogen projects in Brazil and financing transactions by a DFI to Brazilian local development banks.

Judges said of Vieira that he had an “Impressive resume,” and that he has: “clearly worked on some important and iconic, complex projects. He is most definitely a rising star.”
