CCR to sell ICT subsidiary Samm, Brazil

Brazilian highway concessionaire CCR will sell its ICT subsidiary Samm in the coming months – over 1 year after its deal with Luna Fibra fell through.

CCR will look to enter an agreement with a buyer in 1-2 months, sources say, with multiple parties interested in acquiring the fibre optics firm.

CCR agreed a deal to sell Samm to Brazilian telecoms provider Luna Fibra in December 2022 for R$245 million ($49m). The transaction fell through after a contractual condition could not be fulfilled – preventing financial close.

The company's flagship Nova Dutra highway concession – connecting Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo – is set to secure a R$14 billion financing package from BNDES in Q3 2024.

The concessionaire is also expected to increase investments into its airport PPPs across Brazil after coming to an agreement with state authorities.
