IJGlobal elected – for all the obvious reasons – not to host a physical event to celebrate the APAC element of the IJInvestor Awards 2021, but here we announce the winners in the company category with our hearty congratulations.

Full details on the winning organisations feature with – where appropriate – judges’ comments will in the winter issue of IJGlobal Magazine that will be published (online only) later this week.

The only APAC award to have been presented in London on the night was picked up on behalf of Marko Bogoievski chief executive of HRL Morrison & Co – winner of the won Outstanding Individual for the Year – by his colleague Vincent Gerritsen (pictured right).

Vincent kindly accepted the award on Marko’s behalf… and promptly launched into a monologue from the stage honouring his chief exec’s successes, followed by what appeared to be a run-through of the company’s P&L!

That aside, this excellent decision by IJInvestor was last week echoed in the southern hemisphere by the New Zealand Herald which featured him as a “Business Hero” as he nears the close of his final year as chief executive.

During his tenure, funds under management rose from NZ$2.1 billion ($1.4bn) to over NZ$24 billion ($16.3bn).

In the past couple of years alone, Marko oversaw 4 significant fundraisings, the establishment of a new healthcare platform, multiple investments in digital infrastructure and 2 renewable energy platforms.

HRL Morrison & Co company has also expanded into North America, Europe and Asia, and it has been recognised for taking an active responsible investment approach across its portfolio and within the business.

• BlackRock Infrastructure Debt Team – Macro-Economic Resilience
• Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) – Direct Investor of the Year
• AMP Capital – Debt Fund Manager of the Year
• Macquarie Capital – Financial Adviser of the Year
• Clifford Chance – Legal Adviser of the Year
