However, the PPP model has been surrounded by scepticism lately. Even though PPPs have been embraced almost simultaneously by many governments across Europe, Asia and the Americas, it is struggling in its most mature market – the UK. The country began questioning the PPP model of delivery and even branded it as a cost to tax payers even though a majority of deals in the UK have been procured under PPP/PFI. Indeed, the UK has implemented PPPs with much zeal and vigour not seen in any other countries so far (It is clear from the number of deals and capital invested).
