Last year, commercial bank lending bettered the modest performance of 2009, but is not yet back to 2006-07 levels. IJ data also suggests a return to health of the bond market but post-crisis monoline insurers are near conspicuous with their absence. It may also be noted that export credit agencies and international financial institutions such as EIB, EBRD and World Bank played an important role in financing infrastructure last year.
