Suez-led bid wins 3,300MW Brazil hydro auction

The winning bid - by the Jirau Energia consortium - offered to sell 70 per cent of the 3,300MW capacity for 71.4 reals (US$43.29) per MWh to the regulated market, with the rest sold on the free market. The government had set a maximum price of 91 reals per MWh. The plant [Projects database] was auctioned yesterday by state body Aneel.
