End of an era for DZ London

A long-established name in the infra community – a banker of many years standing – Jonathan Bullock, is retiring form his role as head of the London branch project finance team.

His last official day is 1 May (2021) – though he will stay on until 31 August in an advisory capacity – and is being replaced by Phil Berger, currently senior vice president on the London team.

IJGlobal – under the guise of Project Finance Magazine reported on Jonathan’s appointment to head the team at DZ back in autumn 2006 – having previously worked at Barclays, UBS and Unicredit.

Jonathan said: “After almost 37 years in the City, it is certainly time to move on to fresh, new challenges.

“I am delighted that Phil has been appointed as my successor and I wish him every success continuing the excellent progress we have made over the last years in developing our energy infrastructure project finance business.”

Berger joined DZ Bank in 2014 as an originator for a range of renewable energy and infrastructure transactions and has been instrumental in strengthening the team’s footprint in these sectors.

He said: “I would like to thank Jonathan for his commitment and dedication and wish him all the best. My task will be to follow the successful path the team has been on over the last couple of years under his leadership and I am looking forward to that challenge”.
