IJGlobal is delighted to announce that from today – the start of April 2021 – we have a new editor… Ila Patel.

Having returned to the IJ fold in the summer of 2018 as Americas Editor, a region where she has particularly deep experience, Ila Patel (formerly Ila Halai) now takes over as lead for the editorial teams in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Ila started her journalism career at IJGlobal – then operating simply as the privately-owned Infrastructure Journal – in September 2006 and has worked across a number of infra titles over the years.

While her expertise is predominantly North American infrastructure, Ila has over the years also played a significant role in driving editorial efforts for infra and energy across the EMEA region.

Ila is also co-founder of the Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) UK, which launched in 2011. WIN UK is a network that advocates for stronger representation and raising the visibility of women in the infrastructure sector. WIN is now a global network with chapters in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Latin America and Europe.
